Big Feed in the Park returns on the Saturday September 28 and Sunday 29 with a family fun and food extravaganza during the day – before Melting Pot take over on as darkness falls on the Saturday at the stunning Kelvin Way.
Melting Pot’s Saturday Night at the Bandstand brings Craig Charles for a night of disco classics, while the Big Feed Bairns concept takes centre stage through the day with LOADS of fun kids activities and entertainment included in the price.
Rainbow Twisters and Dream Team Kids top the bill for the wee ones with live performances, face painting and spray on temporary tattoos, and of course a huge range of amazing street food traders, quirky makers market and plenty of choice on the drinks front.
Big Feed’s Jonathan Stipanovsky said: “We’re thrilled to announce the return of Big Feed in the Park with our friends and partners Melting Pot.
“We’ve switched up the format this year on the back of feedback from our first time at this beautiful site in the heart of the West End.
“So it’s almost two separate events – Big Feed Bairns takes the helm during the day before Melting Pot take over at night, then Big Feed is back again on Sunday.
“We have so much for the kids, it’s the perfect end of summer family fun extravaganza.
“We really have levelled it up with some of our best ever street food traders serving up every kind of ace street food from around thew world.
Along with our usual marquee event bar and cocktail traders, this year we’ll also be launching our Bacardi Tiki bar and Pravha beer bar.”
Melting Pot’s Mark MacKechnie said: “We’re buzzing to be back at such an iconic, unique venue, with our mates from Big Feed.
“Disco is well and truly back at the bandstand and having our very special guest Craig Charles, the BBC 6 Music funkster in chief, and a bunch of classic grooves all night long. Well, until 10 anyway.
“We loved the venue and the vibe last year and wanted to step it up and make this year even better.
“Craig is the perfect guy to deliver a late summer night of disco heaven – so get on the tickets fast before they sell out.”
With Big Feed street food and drinks offering running throughout both day and night events, there’s a huge range of attractions for all.
Joe Aitken of Big Feed explained: “We’re really excited to return to one of Scotland’s most iconic venues – we’re the first people to be allowed to use the Kelvin Way itself as a venue, rather than just the Bandstand.
“Thank you to our Glasgow City Council for their support – we are over the moon to deliver quality events, entertainment, food and drink offerings to the people of our city and beyond.
“Our partners Melting Pot, Rainbow Twisters and Dream Team Kids are set to smash it with an incredible headliner Craig Charles and really fun stuff for the kids.”
The Big Feed day time event runs from 11am to 4pm with a quick break before the late night Melting Pot shenanigans kick off from 5-10pm.
Day time costs £12 for adults, £8 for kids or free for “babes in arms”, with no hidden costs for the entertainment, spray tattoos and so on.
While Melting Pot’s night time Saturday fun is from 5-10pm priced £25 with last entry at 7pm.
Caitlin of Dream Team Kids said: “We’re super excited to bring our first ever live show to Big Feed in the Park!”.
And Sammy of Rainbow Twisters added: “It’s great to be coming back for the second year running with even more fun for all.
